Day Twenty-Six

In today's series...
Gearing up for Thanksgiving I was enjoying a new bouquet of flowers and my toddler was having fun making foam turkeys to put on the dinner table this week. I know, I'm probably one of few people who don't keep the color on photos of flowers. Don't get me wrong, it's the obvious choice as these particular flowers were beautifully vibrant, but there's something about the realness of black and white that I can't get away from.

Day Twenty-Five

In today's series...
A coffee grinder, a lamp shade, an exercise bike, a scissor, a bread pan, and a candlestick holder.

My favorite of today's series is the bread pan. I love geometric shapes, especially when created with the help of shadows and light. Plus, I made some excellent pumpkin bread in it right after taking its picture.

Day Twenty-Four

In today's series...
A dishwasher, the inside of a trash bag, a Baileys bottle, an egg pan, and a biscuits container.

I didn't get as much time on shooting a variety of pics on this busy Saturday, but I did manage to get creative while emptying my dishwasher, collecting trash, and making breakfast. On days were I tell myself there is no way I'll have time to be creative, I remind myself that the point of this project is to be creative no matter what. In this case, I fried up eggs while taking pictures and clearing out my dishwasher. It's also the fun of the challenge. One of these days I'll end up with a series on creatively posed diapers and spit up rags. You laugh, but just wait.

My favorites were the two of the dishwasher. There is something geometric and architectural about them, which is my favorite kind of photography.

Day Twenty-Three

I'm taking full advantage of these beautiful sunny days to play with shadows, contrast, and reflection.

In today's series...
A small bowl with an interesting shape created by shadows, the shadow and reflection from a glass of water on a metal table, the inside of a glass of seltzer water, cinnamon sticks, an almond inside a small metal bowl, and a small white bowl on a kids food mat.

My favorite of the series is the seltzer water. I feel like a kid in a science class fascinated by all the bubbles. It's fun and the glass in the light creates such great reflection.

Day Twenty-Two

In today's series...
A sunny day brings me to a happy place of shadows, light, and great contrast! An iPad, a toy Batman, a recipe box, an orange juice container, animal crackers, and Brillo pads.

Today's favorite are the animal crackers because they encompass the best of everything I enjoy about this project. They are transformed (almost resembling an ancient cave drawing), there is great light, and inverting the contrast in Photoshop adds a fun dynamic.

Day Twenty-One

In today's series...
A wooden bowl and wooden spatula, an old grater, dried bay leaves, a hand crank radio, forks, and a thinking pirate.

This may sound cheesy, but today all are my favorites. Mainly because I wasn't feeling exceptionally creative, so I took the strategy of taking a picture of everything in front of me till I felt a bit of creativity creep in. Once that sets it I'm golden. I got a bit into the utensils, but then added a couple fun things like the pirate, looking like he's posing for a portrait, and the hand crank radio, which I inverted the contrast using Photoshop. I feel especially content on days like this where after no imagination to start with, I can smile at at least one photo. On that note...

Day Twenty

Today was a mix of randomness...a.k.a trying to fit in taking pictures between a hundred other things. I have a feeling the holidays will bring more of that kind of challenge, but then again it can also give me more to photograph.

In today's series...
A painting (by me) in my five month old's room, The Thinker seen through a toilet paper roll (I'm not getting desperate, just experimenting folks), the inside of a just washed baby bottle (big part of my day, so you were bound to get a pic), a frosted window, a bathroom lightbulb, and an old hand held radio.

My favorite is definitely The Thinker. If you haven't already figured it out, I like weird things. And this project gives me the freedom to get as weird as I want. So....

Day Nineteen

In today's series...
My beloved lens with a reflection of a window (I hope to start using you more often!), an old amp, a cardboard beer box/carrier, a laundry basket and great shadows, a shadow on a concrete wall, and a % sign on a sticker.

My favorite... The lens of course. Not just because I love photography, but more that this project is inspiring me to do more than get creative. It's inspiring me to do better work, to think differently, and to believe in my work. I also love the amp because I think I subconsciously always wanted to be a rockstar.

I'll stick to photography. On that note...

Day Eighteen

Today's series includes....
A basement window, egg shells, a spotlight, a small stainless steel strainer, a kids fire truck tent seen through a baby food jar, and a dirty plate with a cupcake crumb.

My favorite.... The dirty plate. Something sweet about it, after watching my toddler devour it.
